Taking a different approach this season on several occasions, Billionaire Boys Club recently partnered with clothiers Turnball & Asser and most recently Stephen Jones to offer a more sartorial approach to the line. A team-up with Stephen Jones results in the following bowler hat. The classical piece of headwear is marked by BBC’s signature “Ray Gun” logo along the band. Available starting May 30th at THE ICE CREAM STORE TOKYO with a further roll-out in early June.
Pharrell Williams was spotted out in London wearing mostly denim with a majority of the pieces coming from his Billionaire Boys Club label. He was rocking a BBC Wolfman Jacket ($475) in indigo, which is a dark denim asymmetrical zip-up jacket that features the Billionaire Boys Club Helmet Boy logo on the left chest and the Rocket Helmet Logo on the back. Pharrell accessorized with a pair of Chanel Denim Sunglasses ($290), which have an acetate squared frame and blue denim covered temples with Chanel’s signature CC logo. He was also wearing a BBC knit hat and Helmet Boy washed denim jeans.
The fruits of the Pharrell Williams and Moncler collaboration have finally been revealed for the world to see. With Pharrell’s recycled plastics company Bionic Yarn providing a majority of the fabric, Moncler and the famed producer created 5 pieces consisting of primarily vests jackets. Earthy camouflage print from Japanese artist Keita Sugiura illuminates each piece and premium leathers add further detailing. The Pharrell Williams x Moncler Jacket collection will be available for the Fall/Winter 2010 at select Moncler stores.
Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin will be showcasing Pharrell Williams’ latest artistic creation which addresses the theme of war, The Tank Chair, at Colette on March 22nd to the 28th followed by the Emmanuel Perrotin gallery on March 30th to April 24th. The Tank Chair consists of 4 models, baby pink, white transparent, baby blue and black, which are made of Plexiglass and foal or calf. 8 limited edition pieces of each Tank Chair model have been created.
In The Tank Chair photo shoot Pharrell was wearing a pair of Nike Snowboarding Danny Kass x Arbito Zoom Force 1 Boots. Nike Snowboarding created this boot for pro snowboarder, Danny Kass in collaboration with Seattle-base artist, Arbito who is well known for his vivid hallucinogenic paintings. The boots, also known as Double Tongue, features dual “tongues” to ensure ground clearance for snowboard pants when a boarder is not riding. This is definitely an interesting choice by Mr. Williams and comes as no surprise because he is a trend setter. Pharrell is also wearing the Switzerland themed International Down Vest by Ralph Lauren, and a pair of BBC jeans.
Bionic produces yarns and fabrics from recycled bottles, and the company had also produced pieces in collaboration with GAP.
One of the many pieces so far of the collection includes a reversible black puffer vest (inspired by bullet-proof vests) with Velcro side slits. Turning the vest inside out, the lining is a print fusing art and nature created by Japanese artist, Keita Sugiura. Keep checking back kids for more info on this !
